caftan 2012

As you have surely noticed, this section will help you to get up to date with the various events around the world featuring this wonderful piece that is the caftan.

Each year, a certain number of parades are organized and I will try to share them with you...

One of the most prestigious haute couture events "Caftan" is going to have its 17th edition Caftan 2013, and I would like to go back with you to the 16th edition Caftan 2012 which had chosen as its theme "the treasures of Ibn Battuta".

But why this theme? And what exactly do these famous treasures represent? For those who don't know, Ibn Batouta was a great Moroccan writer and traveler who lived in the 14th century. He traveled no less than 120,000 km around the world in 29 years. It is therefore a call to escape from thirteen designers as talented as each other who invite us to travel through time for this Caftan 2012 ….

Kacem Sahl, Siham and Habti, Amina Bousayri, Romeo, Meriyem Boussikouk, Meriem Benamour, Raouh Abdellehanine, El Batoul Cain Allah, Nisrine Bekkali, Meriem BelkhayatLahoucine Ait Lmahdi and Simohamed Lakhders are ...

They won the challenge, mixing tradition and modernity for collections simply: SUBLIMES

I have selected for you some pictures...

Here is a first model signed Nisrine Bekkali.
Halfway between evening dress and caftan it is a beautiful combination of lace and silk. We particularly like the little touch of flowers with a pretty embroidery of roses.

Of course I can not talk about Caftan 2012 without mentioning my favorite Meriem Belkhayat, with this beautiful caftan inspired by the adventures of Ibn Battuta in India.

Let's stay in the genius of high fashion with Kacem Sahl and this sublime red caftan:

I finish with a very nice risk from Lahoucine Aït El Mehdi, with a Takchita which perfectly combines folk tradition and asymmetrical modernity: Bravo!
